Adult Movement Programs Have Launched at Open Space Studios through both Blacksburg Dance Theater and Independent Artists and Educators!

How it works: Instructors of all movement styles are invited to rent space at an affordable hourly rate, set your own prices, and publicize your class schedules here.

BDT Classes Offered in Mini Sessions

Tap with Kelli, Ballet with Cari (Tuesdays), Ballet with Kevin (Saturdays), and Jazz with Kevin can be registered for online through ClassJuggler. These classes, offered through Blacksburg Dance Theater (BDT), are offered in 4-week sessions.

Tuition is $60 for each 4-week session of each class (this is equivalent to $15 per class period).

You may also drop in to any class for a single-class rate of $20, payable by cash or Venmo at the time of the class.

Classes can not be transferred between sessions. If a class is missed, there are no refunds or exchanges. If you love the class and want to join again, all you have to do is register for the class again when the next 4-week session starts!

4-Week Session Dates:

• Session 1: 

• Saturday Classes: September 5, 12, 19, and 26  

• Tuesday Ballet: September 1, 8, 15, and 22

• Session 2:

• Saturday Classes: October 3, 10, 17, and 24

• Tuesday Ballet: September 29 and October 6, 13, and 20

• Session 3: 

  • Saturday Classes: October 31, and November 7, 14, and 21

  • Tuesday Ballet: October 27, and November 3, 10, and 17

• There will be no adult classes in December. Classes will resume in late January.

Classes offered by independent Artists/Educators have different registration and payment plans. Contact them independently for more information.

Adult Ballet with Cari (BDT)

• Tuesdays 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM

Adult Jazz with Kevin (BDT)

• Saturdays 4:00-5:00 PM

• All experience levels welcome!

Need help getting registered for BDT offered classes? Follow this easy step-by-step guide!

Step 1: Click this link to visit the ClassJuggler customer portal. You can also find this link on the home page of our website. If you need to return to this page, you will need this link.

Step 2: Once you reach the customer portal page, click REGISTER NOW. 

Step 3: Fill in your customer registration form with your name and info. There will be a step to include a secondary person and student’s info later.

Step 4: You will put “Student” in the customer category unless you plan to register a younger child later as well. In that case, you would put “Caretaker.”

Step 5: Next, you will add a secondary contact. This person can be, but is not limited to, a partner or spouse, a family member, or a trusted friend.

Step 6: You will now be prompted to agree to the policies provided. Please be sure to read them carefully and then check that you agree. If you have any questions or would not like to be photographed during this semester, please email us at info@blacksburgdancetheater.com. 

Step 7: A welcome message will appear. Click “Close” in the bottom left corner.

Step 8: Next, we will add your dancer information. Click “Family” on the far left. Then click “Student” or “Add a student to your family” under the yellow bar.

Step 9: You have arrived at the student information page. Click “Add a new student.”

Step 10: Input your information and click “student is the same person as customer” if you are registering yourself. Be sure to include any allergies or other important needs at the bottom under “student medical information.”

Step 11: If you don’t need to add anyone else, you can start shopping for classes! To shop for classes, you can either click on the link in the yellow bar or click “Shopping” on the left. Then click “Shop for Classes”.

Step 12: Choosing classes is just like online shopping! You will be choosing classes to add to your cart. Click the green button next to your 1st class. For adult movement program classes, you will be signing up for a 4-week session of the class you are signing up for.

Step 13: For each class, select a student (you or otherwise). Scroll down. Here you’ll see the class information and the pre-registration rate of $60 for each 4-week session of a class.

Step 14: If you’re ready to check out, click “Check Out Now with my Shopping Cart.” If you want to choose another class, click “Back to Class List” and repeat the process until you are ready to check out.

Step 15: When you click “Check Out Now with My Shopping Cart” or the yellow shopping cart in the far right corner, you will come to this page. Here you can see the classes you have chosen and their dates and times. Double-check that all this information is correct before you click “Checkout.” Click “ok” to confirm you’re ready to check out. You will not have to pay at this point.

Step 18: You will receive a confirmation that your order has been sent. We will approve your enrollment ASAP and send a bill to you for your class on this page. YOU ARE NOT FULLY REGISTERED until you receive your enrollment confirmation AND YOU HAVE PAID.

Step 18: When your order has been approved, you will receive an email, and in your customer portal, you will see a balance in the right-hand corner of your screen in the BLUE RECTANGLE. To pay, either click the rectangle or click “My Account” and then the subcategory “Make a Payment.”

Step 19: To pay the full balance, click “Pay my full balance”. Then fill in your credit/debit card information. When you have filled everything out and feel ready, click “Submit Payment”.

Step 20: Congrats! You have completed registration! You will now receive an emailed notification of your payment and an invoice for your classes. Thank you for joining the Adult Movement Classes at Open Space Studios! As always, if you have any questions, email us at info@blacksburgdancetheater.com.
